Paweatherguy1
Looks like the front is about to enter Beaver county, might stay up and see what happens around here. Did you get that same massive gust that I got (I'm in Emsworth). Had to be 50-60 MPH.

blackngoldrules
Just got it here. Mine was over 50 mph. My temp just went from 50 to 47 in 5 minutes. It got pretty nasty here too briefly. My lights even flickered. My temp dropped from 49 to 45 in about 10 minutes time. Still steadily dropping. We'll be back to wearing our coats in the morning. north pgh
Pit airport just reported a gust of 49 mph at 12:15 am. I guess our estimates of 50 mph were right on. The line should be over Monroeville and east now. My temp is now down to 43. A 7 degree drop in 20 minutes.

CoraopolisWx
Decent squall with the front last night. To get post frontal snow is rare anymore, shows how much moisture was with that system. Too bad most of it was in the warm sector.

RitualOfTheTrout
Some pretty wicked snow squalls out there. I woke up around 6:00am this morning to heavy snow and wind. Roads were covered and picked up close to an inch in about a half hour. After the snow let up, the snow on the roads melted off but was still a sight to see after highs in the 50s and 60s yesterday. On the drive to work I went trough another one just North of Holiday Park / Plum area and it was pouring snow. Looked like well over an inch with high winds. Probably close to blizzard conditions albeit only for a brief period of time.
blackngoldrules
Just had a pretty heavy squall move through Canonsburg where I'm at. Still snowing but not as hard. Very windy. Probably picked up a quick half inch.
RitualOfTheTrout
6z GFS and 12z NAM both looked pretty juiced for the Sunday Clipper. Hopefully that trend continues. Verbatim would be 3-5 inches I think, until 12z GFS goes poof with our luck.

Verbatim would be 3-5 inches I think, until 12z GFS goes poof with our luck. Sunday Clipper looks a little drier, still maybe 1-3 inches. It looks like a train of 3 clippers in a row starting Sunday thru next week. (If the GFS holds) Not big producers but nevertheless could be a light snowy week. I hadn't been really following the models and just saw the NAM and 6z GFS looked nice. I figured 12z would bring in the reality check.
blackngoldrules
I've been getting snow/sleet squalls today. Large sleet pellets mixed in with the snow. Of course, you get a quick coating and then the sun comes out and it's gone as quickly as it came.
Rolling Snowed
Not to grovel over graupel...but what your seeing BlackNGold is most likely graupel. Graupel is snow pellets formed in convective snow showers/squalls like we are seeing today.

RitualOfTheTrout
so what is it gonna be tomorrow?... 1-2 like I saw here or 4-6 like the NWS is saying now?.... NWS is saying 4-6 through Sunday at 7PM I'd think we verify on the lower end, but they are counting on ratios of 20:1. With that said, all it takes is .2 between the 2 systems and LES to verify. Seems pretty reasonable.

Seems pretty reasonable. This reminds me of the conversations we had over a week ago. We thought their 4-6 call was a bit high initially, but it ended up verifying when all was said and done. We saw what high ratios and a little LES at the end can do. We might see similar with this one.
