Festus
My guess is is keeps chugging until it gets closer to the upper low and is captured and starts becoming vertical, that's when it is likely to slow and almost stall before lifting back out but that's just a guess. Think I found my answer in Mid Atlantic.
Santa Clause
Hey guys I said this in the other thread, could it possibly be the wind is having trouble mixing to the surface? Upper level wind is there, but not even close at the surface.
pawatch
Is it just me or does it look like Sandy come in a little further south? " Lewes Delaware area"
Santa Clause
It looks to be moving WSW atm. That is big news too, trajectory and a southern push like that will make a difference.

" Lewes Delaware area" I see the same thing, looks like it's a good deal further s/w than projected. Moving faster too.

NeffsvilleWx
Also, my DirectTV someone still works. It's a miracle, honestly. I had to change from HD to SD, helps a lot during times of poor signal. My theory is that HD requires more data packets to be received, which makes it more susceptible to low signal quality. CarlislePaWx
well, just before 7pm I'm having sustained winds of over 30mph with gusts to over 50mph. The roar is almost deafening outside as it whips through the bare tree forest that is just behind my backyard. Still hoping to keep power...we'll see. Also noted the latest NWS updates drop the most intense sustained winds around midnight even though the low doesnt reach us until tomorrow morning. Guess that's due to rapid storm weakening?? Surprised there are so few reports on here right now.
