It seems like its marginally improved now the last 20 minutes but its very gradual if that.

I'd say the same here in north central Suffolk...stilly windy, but not the ferocity of two to three hours ago...so far, one of my fences has been leveled, but I can't see anything else beyond that...(the darkness does not help)

We've gusted over 70 easily several times.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

The cracking trees and thumps send shivers down your spine.

Same here in Western Nassau with frequent power flashes off in the distance.

We heard some very loud transformer booms over the last few hours.

Y'all know this but the Hudson just breached around W 20th Street and into Chelsea. That is some serious sh*t. My mother lives in W 80s at Riverside, but she's way up high above the River.

Up in the lower W 90s I just feel so oddly disconnected. Wind is gusting and power is flickering, but people are still going about their business.
