dallen7908
Dumb question. Jim Cantore just said water levels at Battery Park have not surpassed where they were during Irene yet. Is that consistent with the Battery numbers you're posting?

Dino
I don't want to sound like a wimp but the wind was blowing so hard here in Astoria I thought the building was going to fall over- it was swaying a lot. Ran downstairs and I I'm serious when I say this- the wind was roaring so fast all the cars on my street were Shaking back and forth. Most scared I've felt thus far. Wind must have gusted over 80?! He has stated that it's still about 1 foot lower than what they saw there with Irene as of right now. I don't quite understand how it can be lower? Irene's highest point was 9.5 ft above MLLW and this is now almost 3 ft above that. Maybe somebody local can help me understand that.

audioguy3107
He must be standing in a more elevated part of the park. It looks like he was right at the railing separating the grass from the walkway looking out over the water. Water was spilling directly into the park, but he was definite about his observation. Was he in the same place during Irene I wonder?
