SnowGoose69
Winds have increased again after a brief lull. Clearly a wave of strong winds advancing west out of Nassau, we had a lull here as well til about 410 and then got pummelled for 30 minutes, its just began easing now the last 5-10 minutes. earthlight
The HRRR also indicates the highest inland gust potential (As well as along the s facing shores) similarly to the NAM ...between 7 and 10 pm with better ability to mix down the strong winds aloft. 80m winds increase from 50kts to 70 kts at 00z-02z. ace0927
It's going to depend on the tides and the timing/alignment with the tides as well. The observed rises at The Battery are very concerning given the short term modeled switch to southeast winds and improved mixing of strong winds aloft. Thanks...much appreciated

earthlight
80m winds at 02z. The Verrazano bridge and NY Harbor are going to have some really, really big problems if this is correct. Given the 50kt winds at 80m right now, and the gusts over 50-60 in many areas even inland..this is concerning especially when aligned with high tide.
