dryslot
And so it begins. First: Storm intensity denial phase Second: The storm dissatisfaction phase. Third: Acceptance that maybe someone else was in the path of ground zero this time, and not SNE lol, I had very low expectations so there will be no disappointment up here with a further south track
Shaun Curry
The power popped off then right back on here in South Kingstown, RI (Peace Dale section) just before 2:00 PM. Getting occasional flickers so I'm guessing it won't be long until I'm firing up the generator.

skierinvermont
We are dropping wind forecast based on 12z models and ACY landfall... 55-65 mph gusts inland / 60-75 mph coast. Good call IMO... the farther south/faster track should really shorten the period of max winds, and bring max surge prior to high tide.

Hildy
Tree down in my backyard--the crown just scraped our house going down. Midsized willow that had its roots in the water, so not a huge shocker, but it was certainly startling when it came down.
wxeyeNH
No wind up here in C NH, well maybe 10-15mph. No rain either, just a bit of drizzle. Wonder if the rain shield will even make it this far north as Sandy is making her closest past now it seems.

HIPPYVALLEY
Getting our first freight train sounding gusts now. Probably howling up in the hilltowns. No posts from MPM so maybe he lost power? I don't want anyone thinking I'm downplaying the storm w/ my obs. My corner of the state was never supposed get in on the high wind action, just reporting obs.
