free_man
National Grid is slowly trimming the number of outages, NStar is losing the battle up over 30k now. About 40% of Mashpee is in the dark right now. 65 mph easy here. please give updates if you can..only cell wireless on a vz dare here.p
Clinch Leatherwood
It's actually eased back quite a bit here. Still some gusts around 50, but nothing like that rain band stuff. Pretty run of the mill noreaster for the last 15-30.
Bostonseminole
Yeah, windy but not dramatic yet, but Will said 2-8 so let's see how it goes up here.

wokeupthisam
Mistake? I don't know, maybe the strength of the core all morning and into early afternoon inhibits the wind field expansion

scoob40
We are dropping wind forecast based on 12z models and ACY landfall... 55-65 mph gusts inland / 60-75 mph coast. Yes. NWS has posted peak gusts of 46 around here. Sounds about right if 55-65 in Ct.
Cold Miser
And so it begins. First: Storm intensity denial phase Second: The storm dissatisfaction phase. Third: Acceptance that maybe someone else was in the path of ground zero this time, and not SNE
weatherwiz
We should delete a pro meteorologist team for cutting back their wind forecast? I wasn't talking about cutting back of the wind forecasts, the people saying this isn't going as forecasted or the winds aren't that impressive just b/c they aren't seeing 50 mph winds...they need to open their eyes and look at the obs around the region. Typhoon Tip
So far up here in Ayer this is more of a pedestrian windy day - some gust perhaps a little on the dramatic side, but power is alive and kicking. Looks like the models busted on the physics of Sandy - she was supposed to be a warm secluded hybrid and going cold by now, but the structure appears she's about to landfall on NJ as a late season hurricane. She'll fill pretty quick and at last convert shortly thereafter.

CT Rain
Sandy is a clear cane, max winds are right around the eye That is true. The NHC decision was a total bust and fail. It is what it is though... I think the jog left will keep the worst out of SNE. Still worried about big big surge.
