WeatherX
Holy Smokes....I am going to eat my words. Sandy is raging here......ripping wind. No excuses here.....defer to the experts. nzucker
Power flickering here in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Winds must be exceeding 60mph. Barely holding onto the electricity.
dryslot
Isle of Shoals gusting to 76 mph now. I though 80 was a good bet there, now let's see if that can translate into PWM. Just had some really good gusts as a band of rain moved through. Looks like some of those heavier bands on Rad will be thru here in the next hour or so mixing down some of those heavier gusts
Damage In Tolland
Winds let up here the last hour. I'm hopeful Scooter is right..Should start ramping up again soon

ChrisM
Power is out think we hit 65 - 70 with that last gust Nice, on generator power here as well. It looks like we maybe just maybe are going to start ramping things up here in a minute. Convective stuff moving in, getting a little windier...still have 40 mph for peak gust so here goes nothin'! OceanStWx
Looks like some of those heavier bands on Rad will be thru here in the next hour or so mixing down some of those heavier gusts That band that is about to pass GYX came through Old Port with 60 mph gusts easy. I'm expecting similar with that next band just to my south.
CoastalWx
Winds let up here the last hour. I'm hopeful Scooter is right..Should start ramping up again soon It's not supposed to be 80+ gusts, but figure you could crack 60 given your location. powderfreak
Man I bet the winds were pretty nuts in that squall line that went through BOS-BED-LWM over the past half hour... That squall is trucking at a high rate of speed from SE to NW...and its almost bowing out. Gotta be crazy wind in that.
radarman
Winds have been impressive enough up here on the hill, but I am taken aback by the lack of damage around town. Came back from a decent drive and in total saw much less damage than my yard alone had last year in both Irene and especially Octobomb. Obviously the lack of black walnuts and acorns (Irene) and leaves is a major factor, but also that many susceptible trees have been taken out already, by mother nature or Asplundh. Locally the cleanup will be minimal despite stronger winds that Irene. I know it's not the case elsewhere so please don't consider this a bust call. I had 30G45s, maybe 50 up here all along.
