Mr Torchey
Minutes after sending a video of lackluster conditions to sultginxy we just had 3 monsterous gusts I would estimate 50 pmh+ Better winds look to be on the way.
RI Rob
What? I'm driving through a TS. One of the worst commutes. I don't get it! I'm right off tremont st. and its so dead here. Like I just got back from walking to my cafeteria and there was just a breeze. I'm really confused.
wxmanmitch
Neat gravity waves showing up on the Upton, NY radar. Likely the result of the extreme wind shear and some KH instability developing in the low-levels. Cool stuff!
Brian5671
10 minute power outage here-back on now...windier now as well.

powderfreak
Gust to 53 here in st. Johnsbury at little after 2. Wow all the way up there. Absolutely no wind in Stowe right now. Practically calm as the winds are forced over the ridgelines...scud is humming along though.

wxsniss
nothing going on here in downtown boston. Breezy with a bit of drizzle. CapturedNature
The two major utilities in CT have about 55K out at this point. Winds are gusting over 40mph here at times. I don't have the best anemometer (only samples ever 48 seconds) so it's hard to match the timing at times but the house is creaking on a few of them. OceanStWx
Winds on OKX BV have picked up dramatically over LI last few volume scans. This is just about when that LLJ was forecast to start lifting into southern New England. So we'll see, 60 knots only 500 feet off the deck at OKX. BIsound
Winds are beginning to rock on RI south shore. Ocean is wild. No anemometer but couldn't walk against gusts by beach. Expect close to 60mph. Unfortunately it is close to low tide but tide never went out. Still close to dune line, tremendous amount of sea foam being blown. Wind seems to be shifting more northeast / east from this am's north. If east by tonight's high tide, big coastal flooding. Lost power about half an hour ago. Generator going( house wired) . Sugarloaf1989
Winds are strong here and the power keeps flickering making rebooting my computer a pain. The local mets are now going with lower maximum wind gusts in Northern Connecticut in the 55-60mph range and less damage impact due to non-foliated tree's. Supposedly this is due to Sandy's southern track and approach to A/C?
CoastalWx
All Ryan said was that he was tweaking winds down a bit, not saying storm cancel. Why don't people understand? BTW, true cane squalls. Epic conditions on the expressway.
