HIPPYVALLEY
Seems to be pretty much as forecast for SNE. If inland winds are 10 -15 mph or so less than forecast that's not really a big deal imo and not worth quibbling about. I think the only bust potential for SNE was in the rain department. only .20" here so far - about 2% of what Irene brought.

Brian5671
One year later...wow. the local area here has recovered outside of the 1/2 mile away from the beach. Still some downed trees that are not bothering anyone that still need to be cleaned up. Local beach area is a different story...older houses being torn down, a contractor's bonanza of new construction. Some houses being lifted, but many chose to tear down and start over (or leave and let someone else start over) Will take several more years to look normal again down there. Brand new Penfield Pavilion which was damaged in the storm still sits idle with fencing around it-town still fighting with insurance and FEMA over that. - I remember walking/driving around the day after the storm and just being in awe of the damage and water intrusion so far inland. Those are pretty wild numbers.
