ORH_wxman
No not 100..80-90 is poss The only place where 80-90 looks realistic in CT is near GON and SE CT coast...maybe also near BDR if they can steepen the lapse rates enough when the winds go S/SE. The KGON sounding gets 60 knots sustained down to 700 feet and has 87 knots at 900mb.
moneypitmike
But there's not gonna be any wind in NW Mass Not as much. . My wife ran to grab stuff from her office at Hampshire collge. She reported that it's much windier here at the pit than down in Amherst. I guess elevation trumps 25 miles of latitude.
Damage In Tolland
I doubt that too. It's funny that Norfolk is calm right now. Something has been wrong with their wind sensor..It's been showing calm all weekend and today. Maybe some of MRG's hair is tangled in it?
wxmanmitch
Not much wind here yet. I don't think we've had anything much above 20 MPH so far. Evidently it's starting to blow up at 2K with the power reports from Savoy. I've even had a few breaks of filtered sun within the past hour in between bouts of sheet drizzle. Maybe a result of some localized downsloping? I suspect my winds will really start to crank when they turn more SE tonight. For whatever reason, my location gets really windy when it comes from the SE. Perhaps, it's due to funneling up the valley. Hopefully I won't lose power. I got lucky in the snowstorm a year ago today and had nothing more than flickers. Not sure I'll be so lucky this time around.

Damage In Tolland
I think Kevin could see gusts that are rather surprising given his elevation and exposure, but we'll see.
