Midlo Snow Maker

Recommended Posts

Yes, very short lived. Had to check close but had a flake or two hit the window and melt. Looks like there was a quick pink pocket on the radar that swept through Hanover and maybe that is what I saw. I guess I would rather not have snow given our locales winter history when we receive snow early.

What station do you have, Midlo? Been thinking about getting one myself. Do you have your stats online?

costco in the west end has them for $80.00 i'm out and don't have the model# wireless trans. data set as often has you want, also has an app you can check from your phone i love it so far

pretty much the same as this one just the models #'s are different

The NWS server is down but just from glancing at WXUnderground it looks like RIC had a max gust of 40mph. Kind of lame around here but it doesn't hurt that my classes were cancelled today. I did see one pice of trash blowing down my street last night.

I was pretty surprised at how many leaves remained on the trees this morning.

Obviously cold and dry sums up November. Not a top 10 coldest November by any means, but this will go down as the coldest November since 2000. And with only .27" of rain, it ends as the 4th driest November on record

Richmond's 10 Driest Novembers (since 1887)

1. 0.11" (1890)

2. 0.17" (2001)

3. 0.24" (1931)

4. 0.27" (2012)

5. 0.36" (1965)

6. 0.44" (1917)

7. 0.51" (1905)

8. 0.62" (1909)

9. 0.63" (1915)

10. 0.66" (1941)

Anthony, can you summarize the winters following?

Anthony, can you summarize the winters following?

I'll go through the data sometime tomorrow while I'm at work, but I can tell you that half of those following winter seasons were ENSO neutral. Only two decent snow seasons (1917-18 33.7" La Nina, 1965-66 29.4" El Nino). The rest were solidly below average with the exception of 1905-06, an El Nino season, with 15.4". Since snowfall recordings for Richmond did not begin until 1897, I do not have data for 1890-91.
