Geos
Fog is quite dense now. Visibility no doubt about 1/16 mile locally. 36°
cyclone77
Pretty cool watching the fog/low clouds on satellite ooze out like pancake syrup. It's pretty foggy out there, but I don't think we're getting any of the near zero stuff some people have seen to the west. Probably hovering around 1/4mi. The street light about 1/8mi away is still easily visible. That light was not visible for much of the GHD storm.
Chicago Storm
Vis at RFD is down to 1/8 mile... KRFD 210354Z 28003KT 1/8SM R01/0800V1000FT FG VV001 04/04 A3019 RMK AO2 SLP226 FG BKN001 T00440044
Powerball
That was pretty cool driving around yesterday morning with the fog. Southwest of downtown, there was little if any fog and brilliant sunshine but the minute you got past downtown going north it was like driving into a big dark cloud...literally. It made the entire cityscape look totally different. Yeah, I noticed that. Visibilities were no more than a couple feet on my side of town. Ajdos
Yeah, I noticed that. Visibilities were no more than a couple feet on my side of town. Day #3, dense fog. Honestly I cannot recall the last time we had so much fog. Visibilities have been continuously below 1/2 mile with frequent 0.00. We are the the new San Fran
michsnowfreak
Day #3, dense fog. Honestly I cannot recall the last time we had so much fog. Visibilities have been continuously below 1/2 mile with frequent 0.00. We are the the new San Fran I recalled something like this happening in a recent November, so I looked it up and lo and behold. We had the EXACT same situation 2 years ago at almost the EXACT same time. November 10-13, 2010 saw four straight nights of extremely dense fog blanket the area. An omen to another 2010-11? BRING. IT. ON. 11-13-
Chicago Storm
Vis is about 100-200 feet here right now...The lowest visibility I have witnessed, passing an estimated 1/16 mile during the GHD storm.

KokomoWX
Foggy, very foggy. Awaiting word on school. I suspect we will close given conditions. This will be our second fog related closing this year.
cyclone77
Still about 1/4 mile here. Don't think it ever got worse than that.
DAFF
I have noticed a direct corelation for ice fog to snow storms in the past. Usually within 2 weeks. It might be a coincidence but it makes me smile at the potential snow. Foggy here with 1/4 mile at worst. By the end of today I will be ready 100% for snow mode. Equipment will be hauled on site by the end of the week too !!
Geos
Waukegan reporting near 0 visibility. I can see about 300-350 feet here. Been awhile since I've seen fog this dense. Travel isn't going to be easy this morning! ...Actually it was freezing fog a couple hours ago.

Indystorm
.15 mile pea soup here at Elkhart. Can barely see across the street. Horrible for holiday travelers who wanted an early start.
Chicago WX
I'm amazed that people don't think to turn on their headlights in this pea soup. Visibility is about 1000 feet at best here in town. Of course the majority of people haven't a clue how to drive anyway.
Brewers
Pretty large region of the Western Great Lakes covered in fog this morning. The fog has already eroded away here. Should be able to make the mid 50's with full sun.
Geos
Fog slowly lifting here. 1/3 mile visibility I would say here in Waukegan. Thinking NW IL will be in the fog for awhile yet.
daddylonglegs
Yesterday I don't even think I could see the sun through the fog... Staying clear here ...Hopefully it burns off for everyone..that stuff sucks.
turtlehurricane
Some dense fog overnight but it's already clear and sunny. Crisp morning, temps in the low 40s.
Powerball
The skies were very hazy this morning between the fog/stratus east and west of here, but otherwise we're looking at mostly clear skies today.
BowMeHunter
Day 5 in a row of 50's.. Days of 20+ departures in the north with some records broken. The 2012 torch to remember just keeps on giving and shows no signs of giving up before the new yr. Only thing crispy out there right now is the already big + departures on the day for a lot of the MW and its not even 11.
Jonger
Operational GFS couldn't possibly look worse in the long run. Wait for the ensembles I guess.
wisconsinwx
Funny, Milwaukee is one of the warmer cities in the region because the fog has burned off; it is 52F while it is mid 40s in Madison and at Midway. Same with Davenport I believe.
snowstormcanuck
Operational GFS couldn't possibly look worse in the long run. Wait for the ensembles I guess. GFS ensembles look like a mixed bag. Some warmer, others colder. OPS GFS has been all over the place post truncation as well.
