Per DTW obs, looks like light snow (7-9 mi visib) fell much of the night, but no accumulation. They reported Lgt Snow from the 2am thru 5am obs. The solid overcast also kept temps in the 33-35F range all night, though we should nosedive well into the 20s as long as some clearing takes place tonight. Another long week of boring weather on the way, but I repeat, better in mid-November than during winter!

Yeah these painfully boring stretches are not my favorite as it causes my work days to creep along.

Imagine being a winter weather fan and only being able to land a job in southern California. Fog is just about the most exciting thing to forecast outside of santa ana's.

Decent low level frontogenesis across southern Minnesota associated with a small wave. 925 mb temps are above freezing where the frontogenesis is though so only a few drops of rain if that. Very dry air near the surface.

GFS forecast couldn't be more boring, Arctic air and the strongest baroclinicity staying in northern Canada for the foreseeable future. I have no complaints about highs near 50 and lows near freezing as long as the sun stays out though.

Stratospheric polar vortex developing nicely as usual, it's actually a little colder/stronger than usual throughout most of its depth but especially from 30-40 km. http://www.cpc.ncep....ere/strat-trop/

Wash your car, it is a Mustang, it should shine like a diamond.

Agreed.

Haha. At first glance I thought there might have been a decent amount of snow falling in those parts. I must say that I've never seen a snowfall map produced for a trace to 0.4 inches event. lmaosmiley.gif

Neither have I lol. Ive even seen DTX not to a map for a few 1-4" snowfalls (they usually do a map, it seems, if someone in the CWA gets 3-4"+).

Coldest Morning OTY. 20 degrees

Well last night was our coldest night of the season so far, and DTW came in as THE warm spot in SE MI with a low of 25F. DET was 23F, and many of the colder spots were in the teens, including 16F at DTX, 18F at FNT, and yes at the ever-cold ARB, it got to 17F. Per wunderground mby got to 22.9F. Though we have had many freezes, this was definitely our longest freeze, even DTW spent 10 hours at or below 28F, so this bodes well for having killed any possible lingering anything lol.

It was definitely our coldest night here along the lakeshore as well...first time we were in the 20s for an extended period this season. It was in the mid to upper 20s for about 13 hours. :) The vegetation that had any sign of this past warm season's life definitely looks different today.

I think November is going to be cold and snowy. Going with -5F departures and 12 inches of snow for MKE.

lol

24º for the low at LAF this morning.

-5.5º departure through yesterday for November.

yikes.png I'm bump trolling myself, but I might be eating my lol if we don't get some positive temp departures soon. MKE's probably gonna have top see the big dog to get to 12" though.
