Jebman
I am starting to to accumulate a lot of leaves. I have measured 1.5" of leaves in some spots. What are the official depths at BWI? I measured 4 inches in a drift of leaves near the house

Stormpc
the greatest thing about a tropical storm or hurricane is the warm wind. that is when wind is nice. when it's 47 degrees and Winds are gusting to 60 it absolutely blows. trying to go outside and smoke a cigarette sucks. give me snow or give me a tropical system when its warm outside
KAOS
And still Sandy keeps coming. She sure has a nice backside....I think it's good for a few more inches as well.

real
MSNBC Reporter in Cape May saying "winds much more intense" on back end. He seems stunned, saying for last hour or two, even though no rain, the winds are causing damage, long after everyone thought the worst had passed. Mean anything for us? He seems stunned, saying for last hour or two, even though no rain, the winds are causing damage, long after everyone thought the worst had passed. Mean anything for us? in nor'easters a lot of time you get strongest winds after it has passed. not sure the same thing here but maybe similar. cleveland has even gusted to 58 tonight. our sustain winds might pick back up as the center moves a bit tho in some ways i think it might have ended up a bit too close which is partly why we maxed out around 60-65 in the dc area. SabreAce33
Pretty much dead calm here, the occasional gentle breeze. Still light rain, and cold, some damage visible (objects in the street). Never lost power, which is a testament to our power company I think. We experienced a few hours with gusts well above 50.
WVclimo
Lost a willow tree in my front yard. Uprooted. Big mess to clean up. Also two sections of fence around our pool. And some siding torn off of the garage. 4.32" of rain.

mattie g
Lots of leaves around. No obvious damage anywhere that I can see, but I'll probably take a look around the neighborhood a little later to see how things went. Cold and rainy with the occasional breeze. JeanineJ
local news showing thier anemometer is now broken from the winds. Nice -- a device for measuring winds cannot withstand the pressure of that which it is to measure.
