adelphi_sky
Y'all better hope the ABC stores are still stocked if you are getting s-faced this early. I'm saving up the good hooch for Mon. Oooh. That's a good idea! Malibu Pineapple Rum! I also just ordered a Midland-WR300 weather alert radio. Should be here tomorrow. My other radio was too cheesy. Got no stations. nj2va
Ooooo. Forgot the flashlight. Need to find the drinks Wonder what Home Depot is going to look like tomorrow? Target tonight was a zoo. No water, no batteries. Hardly any bread left. And naturally, almost every person was leaving with the 36 pack of toilet paper. Toilet paper and bread - how did those become staples of storms? I went for the wine and hit the ABC storm afterwards. Can only imagine what Home Depot looks like tomorrow...

I have to make a trip to Lowes tomorrow for some materials for some work on the house I scheduled myself for this weekend. Fortunately, I live in an area that doesn't have very many people. The panic shopping isn't bad here like the metro areas.

Pityflakes
I dunno. The coast is going to get hit hard but how often do we get massive power outages from a strong nor'easter? Widespread occasional 50+ gusts doesn't sound apocalyptic to me. Have the models taken into account the huge surge of dry air and rapid weakening of the tropical system? WVclimo
I didn't want to get any perishables until we know tomorrow that the stored generator at the old house still works, but there were plenty of batteries and water at the Martin's here tonight. We are feasting on what's in the freezer the next few days. Better than to lose anything with no electricity. Normal grocery day for us on Saturday morning has been pushed back a few days. We are set with all essentials.
