Of course that might be because night has fallen and so I'm more attuned to my sense of hearing and that the "roaring" I'm hearing isn't that much different than what it sounded like at, say, 530, when it was still light out. I was expecting mass outages by early afternoon. That we've made it this far is somewhat shocking and maybe bodes well for large, rather than catastrophic, damage to the grid.
