Avdave
A plane just took advantage of the slight lull and snuck out of Dulles. Wonder if that'll be the last one that I hear for a while Probably a general aviation aircraft or Labcorp plane

catoctin wx
It is really hard for PWSs to get wind right. Remember, ASOS anemometers are at 10m (33ft) and wide open. I have mine on my roof and it has gusted to 33 mph through the trees despite obvious 50+ gusts. Absolutely. Mine is in an open area and is only showing 34 mph wind gusts. Winds are much higher than that though.

MDScot
Gaithersburg, MD :Power is actually holding out better than I would have expected - don't think we will last the night, but Pepco must have made SOME improvements - or maybe the summer storm did the tree trimming for them! catoctin wx
and thats a new house Im bored of being home, trying to convince the wife to lets get out of the house and go for a drive. Yeah man. Hoping it's not one of ours I found in the front yard. Looking at the back of the house I see ours pulling away though. It's amazing you guys are getting that strong of winds while mine are below 20mph. It really is amazing, are you in a sheltered area? There is wide open farmland to the north of me, so nothing to block the wind.
mattie g
I'm really happy that the rain has been less than I expected to the point. The trees are holding up, but the basement won't like it if we pick up many more multiple inches of rain.
