calm_days
Here is the sunspot complex. It is a chance to see, again, whether or not space weather will affect terrestrial weather. This area will more or less be facing this planet at the same time as a difficult to predict possible storm is possibly going to occur on the USA east coast. There was a very strong solar storm in 2003 near Hallowe'en. I will try to locate more information. Some wondered whether or not it affected weather dynamics due to the magnetospheric changes. No it isn't, because we'll never know what the terrestrial weather was "supposed" to be in the absence of whatever CMEs this sunspot pumped out in the next few days. aslkahuna
There was a whole string of extremely strong Solar Flares during the last half of October 2003 culminating in the monster R5 event of November 4 2003. The Geomagnetic storm on October 29-30 2003 was G5 event and the 5th strongest ever observed since 1859. Steve
