Ralph Wiggum
Euro is downright scary! Even without a direct landfall/hit in NJ or the DelMarVa, the beaches still get clobbered.
chubbs
Signal for a blocking high over Labrador and a cutoff 500 mb low over MA in 06 GFS ensembles has strenthened since yesterday.
Ralph Wiggum
Reminds me of the Ash Wednesday 62 storm to a certain degree. Looking for a 500mb map of that storm to compare with maps in post above. Cant find upper level maps but from this you can discern the block over Labrador region as well as the deep ULL in the East:

mike2010
finally, something interesting going on around here. worst case scenario up here - utter devastation. The storm has the chance to move slower than indicated on the models...numerous land interactions incoming. Too slow would send it out to sea though. :-/

RedSky
This is starting to get a little crazy. I realize we have been waiting for this type of storm, but man... why can't the leaves be off the trees yet... 12z GFS has my trees wincing with pain one plus is more leaves are off the trees vs this time last year. My guess is locally the impacts won't be as severe as last years september hurricane or the snowtober storm but i have some concern over cumulative effects of what would be a large wind field over the power grid in the northeast...
