67/66 is crazy tropical for oct 19th. Low temps are going no where tonight shooting for a plus 18 tomorrow ... The middle finger and muted torch have been a godsend. Cold next month is going to feel awesome!

Yup---61/61 here at the Pit.

Looks like we finish with 2.25" plus what anything else that can be mustered tonight. Not too shabby.

Who hits 80 next week? I am going with DXR

I'm going with no one in Connecticut. Climo says it's pretty rare for 80+ 10/22 on. Next week isn't one of those anomalous warm patterns that produces the once in a decade type warmth that it would take for 80+ this late in the season. BDL, the Death Valley of New England, has only had 15 such occurrences in its 107+ years of record keeping, and half of them were clustered in three distinct warm spells in '46, '47, and '63.

I could definitely see over 70...I'd say the NWS forecast for Thursday @ DXR of 64 is underdone.

Yeah I was gonna say I think you mean '98. '92 was pretty tame temp-wise.

Yeah... but there was another Dec in the early 1990s or late 1980s where it was pretty warm. I was living in Lowell, MA at the time and we were sitting by the Merrimack River eating burgers in shorts and t-shirts...

Gotta look it up

70 is not that crazy this time of year. That's roughly +7 to +11 in the populated parts of the state. I'm sure we'll see some scattered 70s in the next seven days. 80 though is a different story. It's pretty tough to achieve even with a real warm air mass aloft because of the weak sun and relatively shallow mixing depths. To hit 80 next week needs sun, moon, and stars to line up just right which is why I doubt it will happen.

Agreed, if the mixing layer depth was deep enough to get to 850 mb, we'd be seeing 80 for sure.
