Temp closing in on 60 aat the Pit.

1.75" in the bucket.

I bet you are seeing the same type of enhancement that we are today... SE low level flow has been ripping the east slope of the Greens and eastern Adirondacks with torrential rain all afternoon.

If only it were winter... just heavy, heavy rain on the east side of the northern Spine and then again in the eastern NY/Adirondacks.

Nice flow in the lower 4,000ft for orographic enhancement up the east side all the way down into NW CT.

I'm coming up to BTV/Stowe over Tday vacation to scope out places to live lol

Also I am upsloping today. Dont underestimate the litchfield county upslope effect lol

Sweet! I'd push for some place in the mountains vs. BTV if you are looking for more exciting winter weather. However I understand the GF thing...gotta keep the lady happy.

But there's always a decent chance that 1,000ft+ in the Litchfield Hills gets more snow than BTV proper (along the lakeshore there is likely the lowest snowfall area in the state of Vermont) haha.

But if you live along either side of the immediate Spine, your chances of getting beat by Litchfield County in snowfall go way, way down.

Again...if you move to BTV be prepared mentally to deal with these types of events...

If you look closely...that's a 0.5" at BTV on the lakeshore while a few miles away on either side of the Spine its 12-24", with the max on the west slope.

5" vs 18"

Even the little minor events like last Christmas' upslope squalls that put down 6-8" in about 4 hours in the Stowe area...vs. 1.1" at BTV.

That's just a weenie warning if you move to BTV...mentally prepare for it, lol.

I find this a bit harsh coming from you...i honestly have nothing but respect for your wealth of information..and have said several times ur a great poster....i called you out on ur freeze call...im sorry for that

Sorry, I should have been more accurate: you're a troll to LL. You can't deny that you troll him on a daily basis. It doesn't bother me, but like I said if it bothers him he should just put you on ignore. Maybe you guys can patch things up at the next get together? :)

Who was it that said luckily we don't get these storms in the winter? CT Blizz?

February 23-24, 2010 looked similar on radar with south-north bands of heavy precipitation (as snow)... probably the closest analog to this type of conveyor belt of moisture moving up eastern NY/western MA/VT with more showery stuff east.

This is what the totals looked like from a storm like this...

sam did you ever get a tornado the other day?

The most borderline tornado ever lol. We were watching a rapidly rotating wall cloud for about 20 minutes, and a brief funnel, but I never saw any indication of it touching down. When we got back we saw there was a tornado report around the same time and place. We checked our video footage again, and there are circulating rain curtains down to the ground with maybe some dust kicked up briefly ... meh lol.

But it was a huge chase success, because we had to plan it well before convective initiation and our target time and place was where the only supercell in the entire state developed
