Cold Miser
band looks to miss most of SNE. Good. This is a case where not getting the most is in fact winning.
Brian5671
west of hfd looks to do well how do you figure? There's some lighter stuff over western CT, but the superband looks to be moving N or NNE which would miss most east of NYC (and the line ends around Middletown NJ with not much south of that...) tamarack
I think we are past the point of no return. This is the hottest year in recorded history for all except Maine and thats going to be very close now whether its all time or second. Brings a tear to my eye. My little part of Maine is running 1.07F cooler than 2010 thru 9/30, and 0.35F cooler than 1999. Both those years averaged AN for Oct-Dec, so it looks like 2012 will be 3rd mildest of 15 years. (Or 4th. 2006 had my mildest OND by far, and finished within 0.47F of 1999.) And my AN streak ended, barely, in June, but was blown out of the water by Sept. Thru yesterday, Oct was -0.2 but I expect to finish closer to +1, assuming the last few days drop below normal.

HIPPYVALLEY
Steady rain this morning has transitioned to more showery with skies going from brightening back to dark and rainy back to brighter about every 10 minutes. I've driven all over the upper valley this morning/afternoon and the microclimates have been facinating. Pouring in one spot and just cloudy a mile away. Congrats Hudson Valley on winning the qpf battle. ; )

powderfreak
We don't get these setups in winter with humid south relies. Enjoy your rain now and I'll enjoy my deep snow this winter We sometimes get these moisture plumes inthe winter on ripping SSE flow...Feb 2010 had one that brought like 1-3 feet of snow to interior. It's essentially a warm conveyor belt no?
