I am impressed that the science has developed enough that LOT will cancel their open house due to anticipated severe weather two days ahead of time. When I was growing up in the '60's, NWS could fairly accurately predict that it was going to rain two days out, but many times the severe possibilities were an unknown until the day of the event.
