No, earlier they were saying more north ... although now they have downgraded the whole event - it's only 1" among the northern counties and not much else further south.

yea, this one surprised me, it looked like the type of event that would become more juicy the closer we got, but it looks just the opposite has happened.

The radar doesn't look that bad. If I didn't know any better I would think we would be in for a solid 1"-3". Who knows, it might surprise us in the end.

Was just going to say that. For an event that has trended drier and further south, the returns to the west look pretty good... much better than I thought they would given the forecast. I definitely feel we'll hit at least an inch or two provided it doesn't fall apart from here.

Yeah, I don't understand ILN's AFD. They basically still insist no one even gets an inch and then tonight's precip will be light mix at best. Yet it's been snowing here mod to heavy for a couple hours and most of the area already has an inch. Returns keep building back to the west and streaming into Franklin County, so I could definitely see it overperforming here, despite ILN's claim that it's a non-event.

There's a statement issued this morning that said this was the 2nd snowiest December at Columbus. They showed December 2000 only having about 12". I find that very hard to believe. Didn't they have around 30" that month? Where does ILN get their data?

It was actually the 4th snowiest. December 2000 had 13.4".

But I believe we had no single snowfall greater than 2" that month.... In fact the majority of that 13.4 came in dusting and less than an inch snows. It was like finding out you won 50 grand in the lottery but the payoff is like $20 a week for the next 50 years lol
