dilly84
local forecast calling for 1 to 3 inches Friday night...any comments? GFS showing 2-4" with the ratios. 850's are cold enough for 15:1 ratios with .25 qpf. Worthy of its own thread? Not hardly.
Harry
Finished with around 6" While the storm busted from the models, looking outside Im happy. It's absolutely beautiful out. Took a drive down some unplowed back roads and the scenery is pretty magical. Synoptic storms are a tough cookie when it comes to forecasting. Especially here. It's rarely cut and dry. I guess I'm holding out hope for a repeat of my favorite snowstorm. The Presidents Day storm. I know march 08 had huge amounts of snow, but pd2 was just unexpected. Models showed mostly rain and it never rained at all and gave me close to 20". Tonight is amazing outside though. The smell of the air just everything about it. Models had shown a miss to the south not rain. We got a last minute northward bump. It had looked like a River/DC/Richmond storm with it even missing New England. Sure some of the crew ( Buckeye etc ) from back then on wwbb will recall that. And yes that was a sweet storm. I lived in Mt Vernon at the time. Glad you all got something out of this current one. Hate that damn wtod. Ended up a bit better then expected here with 3-4" wind whipped snow.

I had no computer back then lol. So youre probably right. That is my blizzard of 78. It was an amazing, unexpected storm. The best ones are ones you are expecting an inch and get 6 or 7 or in that case 17-20 lol.

vespasian70
Euro showing nearly 4" Saturday Almost as much as many have seen with this last storm. At least it is now within the Euro's golden time frame.
dilly84
GFS on board with Euro showing 3-5" for Saturday morning. Get a nw shift with this one, we theoretically be in the game for a decent snow storm Saturday. Need about a 150 - 200 mile shift nw. Stranger things have happened. buckeye
I made a separate thread for this this morning and it got yanked? Specifically noted that it was separate from the other thread because that one was dealing more with the northern energy effects. Mine was specifically for the lower/eastern OV effects. granted it's not a monster but some will get snow advisory criteria...and for the ky crowd it could be their biggest hit in awhile
buckeye
GFS on board with Euro showing 3-5" for Saturday morning. I'd go 2-4" cmh (solid 3")... 3-5" southern and eastern OH.

Anyways, some could have 8-12" on the ground Saturday night if this one hits the high end. Usually these small events outperform for us.
dilly84
I'd go 2-4" cmh (solid 3")... 3-5" southern and eastern OH. Yea. Text data gives .35 to Cmh. 12:1 13:1 ratios I'd guess.

pondo1000
im using this one http://www.americanw...hwx/models.html Thank you sir. Yeah, the early Jan defintely gets squashed, but it will change so I like where we sit with it! Hopefully, we can squeeze about 2-3 inches out of that lil' deal Saturday. Would that be considered a Clipper?

It's gonna get too confusing to have multiple separate storm threads for the same time frame especially since some areas could get swiped by both.
