ORH_wxman
Any signs of siggy cool or cold last 10 days of month into Novie on ens? No, unfortunately the ensembles look pretty warm near the end of the month with a vortex back over AK/Bering straight...but its pretty far out and it doesn't develop it there until after 300 hours, so I wouldn't put much stock in it yet. Mr Torchey
If todays -12 holds you have to go back all the way to Jan 24th 2011 for a day that was colder relative to climo.

Cold Miser
Next weekend's system could be really nasty with that high pressure northeast of Maine...could be one of those nasty east winds and perhaps ESE for quite as the wind goes ageostrophic with such a good pressure difference. We'll obviously have to wait and see how it evolves. I know it's a week out, but what day(s), time of day are we looking at right now? Of course this will happen when I have outdoor stuff planned for both Saturday and Sunday - Son's football game, and Haunted Hayride on Sat, and Pats/ Jets game on Sunday. A big fat miss would be nice.

weathafella
Descending Mt Bond today. Epic day on trail Beautiful! I did Bond and Bomdcliff about 36 years ago. We car shuttled and did a 3 day heavy duty backpacking trip. One night at Guyot Shelter provided among the most spectacular views I've ever experienced. CoastalWx
HM had been thinking Novie would turn cold and wintry Tropical forcing as modeled is not cold for us in October. If we had this even 6 weeks from now it woul be different As we said, the gradient is more north, but maybe it cools later in the month. Haven't seen the euro ensembles but sounds the same based on what Willl said.

snowman21
Temp now back up to 54 at BDR so this double digit negative departure is not safe, at least gives me something to look at this evening, wonder if temps go up with the clouds moving in and southerly winds passing over the relatively warm waters of LIS. Regardless, very cold morning for this time of year and much enjoyed. The streak is over. BDR will clock in with a double digit below normal day unless BDR gets to 60 by 1 AM.
