Low of 29.1 here and s high of 47.2 . I knew it wouldn't get to 50 today.

Dendrite got taken to the woodshed and used and abused by me and Scooter on our calls for the low in Tolland. In fact the station he chose got to 26 or 27 lol

50° on the dot here for the high off a morning low of 25°. What did you say your low was going to be?

It was funny watching leaves just drop off trees this morning in the cold. This cold wave should finish off the late changing trees but it's interesting that there are many areas around here are past peak.

yeah the whole area is past peak even as if a few days ago. I think I said 28 for my low. Dendrite took over 30. Very very impressive cold shot. One of the coldest so early we've had in yrs. My wind never died off. When I left here at 5:30 for the marathon it was blowing 8-12 mph

Man 70 tomorrow and low to mid 70s Monday sure are going to feel great with some +10 departures. Although I have to say this 24 hour cold shot felt great and has me pumped for the holidays and everything great that comes with them ..... Hopefully some snow this year!

You are beyond annoying, im sorry i took you off ignore

Oh I thought you had picked Tolla7. That one you picked is always the warmest of the 4 in town and mine. Can you click on it and see if they show the name of the road

Leela Way

They are the elevation closest to you and had wind all night to keep the temp up. It's not like you'd be calm above them. The two sites below that had winds near calm at one point and got colder.

Hmmm ok.. That's about 5 mins from here around 700 feet I believe. Just strange since both ORH and I had the same wind and both got to 29 at a higher el

So BDR and BDL both had record lows today...BOS and ORH no record but both had their earliest respective temp readings since 1993.

MQE also set a record low...29F. Previous record was 30F in 1988 which was equaled in 1934 and 1936. The last October record low temperature at Blue Hill was in 1993. The last record low in any month was 2007 in that brutal early March 2007 outbreak.

MQE has torched with the best of them over the last two years. Nice to see a record low.

Leela Way is 2 miles to my east. I am not sure about wind as it was nearly flat calm here all night long. I got down to 29.5 with plenty of frost.

Well I doubt the anemometer was lying. Usually it's the other way around with home stations underreporting wind. Maybe you're more sheltered by trees? idk

I'm zip-lining at Berkshire East tomorrow morning. Any knowlegable people/mets (i.e., people unlike me) have a take on when the showers will break in GC?

TIA.

46/22

It's hard to tell exactly when the warm front will bust through here and we break into the southerly flow. Given that we're now entering the cold season, this may be one of those setups where some cool, dense air gets trapped on the east slope around the area of Berkshire East for a while longer than forecast, resulting in foggy, drizzly conditions for most of the day. I think everyone around here will warm sector eventually, but that area may take a while longer. It may not improve until sometime well into the afternoon. Warm fronts moving into a cool airmass like this are often slow.

I'd say the rain comes in 3-5 AM and exits by around noon, but fog and drizzle may linger. Maybe we'll get lucky and the warmer air will blast in here and clear the low-levels out, but I know the climo in that area fairly well.

Not really, but it usually stays warmer here at night than at lower elevations around me regardless of wind. It was calm here right after sunset and stayed that way all night.

Today was the coldest day here relative to climo since October 29th 2011, which ties that day at -12, do not have the patience to go back further to see when a -13 or greater was registered. That is not only amazing but frightening, now we have a south wind blowing all night with clouds moving in high for the day is 54 so this is not certain to hold. Pretty nuts.

Temp now back up to 54 at BDR so this double digit negative departure is not safe, at least gives me something to look at this evening, wonder if temps go up with the clouds moving in and southerly winds passing over the relatively warm waters of LIS. Regardless, very cold morning for this time of year and much enjoyed.

Next weekend's system could be really nasty with that high pressure northeast of Maine...could be one of those nasty east winds and perhaps ESE for quite as the wind goes ageostrophic with such a good pressure difference.

We'll obviously have to wait and see how it evolves.

Thanks, Mitch--sounds like a sucky day! Well, I'll try to have fun anyway.
