Be afraid of the snow on top of my table. Still can't get over how little damage there was. 20" of powder, but still leaves. We had a dogwood tree snap

Yeah nuts. Stuff to tell the grandkids for sure. Cherish that storm and appreciate how rare it was. Very likely you don't see anything close like that again.

I can pretty much guarantee none of us ever see the likes of that again

We were looking at Trick or Treat picks from last year the week after the storm (weird) and there was still a bunch OTG

I almost said that, but weather sometimes likes to disagree with our assessments. However, you will probably be right.

Look at my pics from the Oct storm. Plenty of leaves still on trees. He lives in a newer neighborhood where the soil is bad and it's mostly maples which drop early. Many trees still were partially leaved

I live in a new community for sure and it was farmland up until about 1960, but the soil is not bad by any stretch, it's very fertile. The big difference is that North Coventry is mostly a new forest of non oak tree's and we are fairly high up at close to 1,000' so the foliage lets go here earlier than the surrounding area. My community had nearly 0% tree damage after the October snowstorm and I had no damage whatsoever..

Just look at the pic he posted in last years thread of the power line on fire, there are no leaves on the trees there near his hood either, must be bad soil.
