Rocktober like the old days. Bridging to winter

Scott wakes up at 4am with cold sweat running down his forehead with images of Jim Cantore in 1996 and the October storm...and the 3 letters "ORH" in his mind. Then he thinks about December 1992 and starts to sway toward the sharp veggie cutting knife in the kitchen and looks at his wrists and says "is this worth it?"....then we tell him to think of Jan 12, 2011 and he backs off the ledge.

Not far from the truth during the following week.

I'm still waiting for my blizzard warning.

Then you have Jack Williams on WBZ going live to Shelby Scott in ORH with 3 feet of snow on the ground....your nightmare almost never ends....then you wake up with cold sweat and see your computer over on the desk with a pic of Feb 7, 2003 and you manage to get back to sleep.

You're on a roll. LOL.

You are forgetting another big blow after thinking I would never see a 2' snowstorm. The NORLUN event in Chatham was another gut punch that winter.

Just when you thought it was over, you fall back asleep and dream of Barry Burbank in March 2001 saying there would be 20" in Boston....then see video of ORH with 2 feet of snow while outside you have a pellet-contaminated 6" snow pack and then get fast-forwarded to March 30, 2001 where ORH again got like 10" of paste while outdoors whatever was left of your pellet-contaminated storm in piles is being washed away by 37F downpours.

You drive at 400' for five miles and its 80% green, then you drive above 900' for five miles and its 10% green, must be the species

I drive 400' down the road it's green. I drive 900' down the road it's raining leaves. It is species. Yes elevation plays a role, but we are talking about ne CT vs ORH. You think ne CT is colder?

ChrisM in 10 years will be the new Pete....he started off averaging 5" less than ORH...but then by 2020 he will average more than Hubbdave at 1100 feet in N ORH county...and be losing leaves by labor day and retaining snow pack after Patriots Day.

That was pretty bad. At least the writing on the wall was there, unlike Dec '92. Ray had 21" of paste stacked on his weenie, while mine was almost washed away. 8" of fluff at the end.

Don't forget the ocean effect snow in Feb '94 where 6 miles to my NE had 2'. While 18" was nothing to sneeze at..missed a big one again..lol. Luckily that winter was unbelievable. The chase for the 2 footer ended in Jan '96.
