SACRUS
going to be enjoying the summery days this week If we can swing enough sun wed and thu could really challenge record highs in a few places but most records look to hold by a few degrees especially NYC. Wed: EWR: 85 (1950) NYC: 87 (1919) LGA: 85 (2000) TTN: 88 (1898) Thu: EWR: 87 (2007) NYC: 88 (1941) LGA: 85 (2007) TTN: 85 (2007)
SnoSki14
Night and day this week to next week, starting Sunday. We could see highs in the low 80s this week and only the upper 50s early next week with lows in the low 40s.

dbc
Its interesting to have both LA and NYC with well above normal temps in the same timeframe. Im off to Southern Cali (Palm springs) and will spend a day in LA. They have been baking the last few days and should stay warm the next few while we go well above normal. I was in Palm Springs this past February. You must go to the Thursday night street festival while you are there. Gourmet Tri-Tip steak sandwiches served right on the street. Organic foods, Art, music, pet pigs and other fun stuff. There is a vendor who sells Banana Bread and other similar type cake, best I ever had. You should also visit the living desert zoo in Palm Desert. Has an African side and a North American side. The North American side has wolves near the Eagles den. The wolves were AMAZING to see and were the most energetic of all the animals at the zoo. If you are ok with Spas, the one at the Marriott in Palm Desert is the best one. Gorgeous hotel too. Go to the top of San Jacinto via the Tram Sky Ride. You can escape the heat nicely up there and you get great views. Go around lunch and eat in the Cafe at the top that overlooks the entire desert: http://pstramway.com/ I stayed in Lake La Quinta Inn in La Quinta, CA. Great B&B. Gorgeous scenery. 15 minutes from everything. Take Route 10 the entire way from Los Angeles as the GPS takes you all over the place. Route 10 is easiest. Ignore the GPS until you are in the area of your destination. Best restaurant in La Quinta is here http://www.labrasserielaquinta.com/ if you want to check out the cute town. Also a cool restaurant in Palm Desert is here http://www.the3rdcor...almdesert.com/# You can go to their wine store that is actually in the restaurant and pick whatever you like. Very fun concept. In Palm Springs itself: Two real good restaurants per tripadvisor. I ate in TRIO awesome food: http://www.triopalmsprings.com/ http://mirospalmsprings.com/

Isotherm
70+ dewpoints make a visit from around 00z this evening until thursday morning All the people that took out their AC units will love that. At least for our area, I don't consider us "in the clear" wrt high dew points until mid October. I remember most Octobers feature a surge of very humid air for at least a couple days. IsentropicLift
Screwzone for us? Screw zone for a run of the mill rain storm? It's yucky here. No thunder, just a steady moderate rain. Nothing special, and I would much rather have a sunny, clear, warm day.

bluewave
The models are hinting that the coming cooler pattern will peak around day 10. We should see a moderation in temperatures shortly after that as the EPO returns to more neutral territory.

TWCCraig
Ugh, I wanted my upper 70's/low 80's. I was hoping for that too, hopefully we can still get some brakes in the cloud and precip to warm us up. If we don't warm tomorrow, Friday's our best chance for warm temps. Isotherm
Highs in the 40s Sunday anyone? If the 18z GFS is correct we'll be going from A/C's blaring Fri/Sat to starting the fireplace Sunday.
SnoSki14
Highs in the 40s Sunday anyone? If the 18z GFS is correct we'll be going from A/C's blaring Fri/Sat to starting the fireplace Sunday. Definitely has that raw, rainy chilly 40s signal for Sunday. The forecast is for mid 50s right now, but if trends continue, I could see us being stuck in the upper 40s for the entire day. Dramatic difference from possible low 80s Friday, even mid 70s Saturday.
