One thing to keep in mind, all those sites labelled CWOP are personal weather stations. Which means you have to rely on the owner to have sited them properly. It also means that if you have one, you can get it listed. My parents is listed on the Mount Holly page (Ewing DW9142).

Oh, okay...

So some of them may be off....great resource

Aren't you next to the airport? They were 4 degrees colder AND they're closer to the water? Doesn't sound right.

The airport itself is closeby but I'm nowhere near the weather station. I'm in a relatively urban area versus JFK's vast open field, whether that makes a difference or not, I don't know.

I am 4 miles south of LGA, in Maspeth, Queens. At 7AM this morning my good ol' fashioned and trusty northern exposed mercury thermometer read 38 degrees. It's possible we were a degree or two lower before then. I think the discrepancy with the official LGA reading during the autumn season is an effect of the LI shore. I'm sure this has been stated before. Then again, that does not make excuses for its nuances during other seasons/events. In Maspeth, being south of LGA and further inland (nearly in the center of the borough), the effects from the LI shore during northerly wind events (even if light) are mitigated. I live in a fairly urban neighborhood/many adjoined houses and busy street traffic.

Most of the stations in northern Queens were within 1-2 degrees of LGA last night:

got down to 33.1 here - maybe now after a couple chilly nights the leaves will begin to change and fall - too green out there including the grass still growing - probably due to the above normal temps since spring of 2011............

Hard frost and freeze almost everywhere in NJ, really should have been a freeze warning for the rest of central NJ as well.

Got down to 29.6F here in Colts Neck. Impressed BLM also made it down to 30F. Still plenty of frost on the ground right now at 42F, as the slow melting process continues. I've seen frost hang on as late as 10am.
