cyclone77
Almost an inch...more looks to be moving in. Nice! I'm a bit surprised there aren't any advisories up for Minnesota. The SREF model has been painting decent accumulations in a nice wide swath from southwest MN up through the heart of the state. Given it's the first accumulating snow of the season you'd think they would pull the trigger. I think there could be a nice 2-5" stripe through there by tomorrow afternoon. I live for fronts like this, approaching 70 here and it's below freezing a mere 300 miles away in western Minnesota. Some snow obs popping up in Minneapolis proper. Entropy
81 here today. That's the warmest temperature ever recorded so late in the season here. Only two later dates have reached 80 (October 26, 1991 & November 3, 1961).
cyclone77
Made it to 72 around 1pm before the bottom fell out. Now cold, rainy, and only 44. Picked up 0.07" of rain so far. Looks like this we're about done though.

cyclone77
My weather underground temp graph illustrates the temp crash this afternoon quite well. Pretty dramatic.
Chicago Storm
Sad day today...closed the pool. Front just moved through. Probably would have made for a nice timelapse...Nice bank of CU along the front, with visible rising motion ahead of it and nice sinking motion behind it. Geos
Yes, I see those cumulus along the front - very nice. Thunderstorms and the front hauling it across the area. Should have storms in about 15 minutes. Already in the low 50s in Rockford. Edit 600pm: Temperature has fallen 15° in 30 minutes! Down to 61°. Tropical
My weather underground temp graph illustrates the temp crash this afternoon quite well. Pretty dramatic. Look at mine! Insane! BTW, I think your wind sensor needs a little calibrating. It jumps around a lot on the graph.
daddylonglegs
Took a short hike up the bluff. Hardly a tree with leaves anymore. Totally different view from the top vs a week ago.

stormtrackertf
Absolutely gorgeous day today here in Detroit. I definitely enjoyed being out this afternoon, it almost made it to 80 today (78°F) and felt every degree of it. Hard to believe it could snow at the start of next week. cyclone77
Look at mine! Insane! BTW, I think your wind sensor needs a little calibrating. It jumps around a lot on the graph. Yeah it's because it's at 5ft above the ground, so it struggles a bit with the wind. I get more accurate temp readings at that level, so the tradeoff is worth it to me. Someday I'll upgrade to a station that incorporates a separate anemometer and mount that on a 30ft mast like where it should be.
