Minnesota Meso
the latest full run of the HRR model, this is the total rainfall through 10am Notice the sub 1000mb low over the IA/IL border. Deformation precip could get going shortly there after. That low could pass just south of Milwaukee. Looking at a possible 2-3" if it works out. KokomoWX
Up to 67 here. Still in the 70s downstate. 66 in Champaign. It's been a long day of rain delayed marching band. Almost muggy.

wisconsinwx
It was heavier than drizzle up by me, and now a solid high end moderate rain thanks to a thin band of showers/embedded thunder moving NE.

Sorry to pile it on, but it was heavy enough to cause me to lose satellite signal for DirecTV for a few minutes. Of course, satellites are extremely sensitive to heavy rain, even if there is little lightning/wind involved.

Close call on the euro.. low over geos could put the best totals just n/nw of us. we need aleks south call to start showing its face. Hopefully we can at least scrap out 2" total... Wind all last week and a rainout weekend.. what a way to trash the epic foliage we had going.
BowMeHunter
Glad this isn't a winter fail. o well the north and their record low rivers need the rain just as bad so cool its more a share the wealth weekend.. They can piss off come winter though.
weathergy
Anyone notice the 978 mb low on the GFS? Really good shear, but no instability to work with, but could kick off some high wind warnings.
hawkeye_wx
I got almost a half inch of rain overnight(on top of the 0.90" from yesterday), so this is already the heaviest rain event of the year. Another nice spoke within the deformation band is moving in now. This rain is very efficient as it's raining fairly hard right now even with only dark green and a few tiny dots of yellow on radar over my location. Obviously, those GFS and NAM runs that suddenly shifted the defo band south of Iowa about 36 hours ago were junk.

daddylonglegs
Good rain...finally starting to add up...about 3/4 inch total so far the last 2 days.. should finish up over an inch, depending on how quickly this moves out.

hawkeye_wx
We are now on the southeast edge of the heavy defo zone rain(getting moderate rain here on the west side of CR, but the east side is in the dry slot), but just west and north they are really getting it good. Waterloo is closing in on 3 inches for an event total. My total is up to 1.70".
cyclone77
Another 0.29" overnight/early this morning puts us up to 0.84" total. Some slow rumbles of thunder right now with a heavier downpour moving through. Still pretty muggy out.
wisconsinwx
It looks like Milwaukee will be on the SE edge of the defo band, as the NAM has adjusted NW in line with the other models. GFS, et al win over the NAM, which has woefully flip flopped from being well south to being decently accurate.
turtlehurricane
0.4" so far in part 2, 1.2" total when you add the 0.8" from yesterday. Pouring rain at the moment and we're just on the SE edge of the band, still have to go through the entire thing as it pushes slowly east. 997 mb low centered over Cedar Rapids, expected to trek over Milwaukee in the next few hours. weatherbo
It's been pouring here since 7am. I've lived here 4 weeks and so far, minus an initial stretch of sunny days, it doesn't do anything but rain. I can see why avg snow is 140".
