No, I meant this weather is god awful.

I can bare this cold and boring weather if it were sunny, but I'm on the side of the lake where it will almost always be cloudy.

I'll take sunny & warm but boring (or even sunny and cold but boring) over this cloudy and cold but boring crap.

It's like the energy's been sucked out of me.

You sound like you have seasonal affective disorder.

IWX

I think we tied ours here today...looks like the record was 44F and so far that is what we've maxed out at...

Clouds better start clearing if we are to plummet tonite.

Just plain cold all across the GL. It's got to feel like late November rather than early October for those attending the Catholics vs. Convicts game.

Our good radiational cooling night looks to be tomorrow night down here. That little disturbance creating cloudy skies around here this evening should be out of here by tomorrow night.

I feel the same way, but I'm deciding to deal with it since it's still better than the scorching dry summer heat we just experienced, and I wanted it to cool down for the fall. I may be slightly regretting that wish now, but I've decided to try not to whine about it. If it were up to me we would have had an average/slightly below average summer and wetter and a mild fall, but it just so happened the opposite might be happening.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MILWAUKEE/SULLIVAN WI

.UPDATE...

EXPECT CLOUD COVER TO REMAIN LONGER. LATEST RUC SOUNDINGS HAVE A

STRONGER INVERSION JUST ABOVE THE CLOUD DECK AROUND 7 THSD FT.

PILOT REPORTS HAVE THE CLOUD THICKNESS AROUND 1 TO 1.5 THSD FT.

DVN 00Z UPPER AIR PROFILE HAS A VERY SHALLOW MOIST LAYER. GRB`S IS

A LITTLE THICKER. 00Z NAM SOUNDINGS SHOW THE 850 MB MOISTURE

REMAINING LONGER AND HAS A RATHER CHAOTIC DRYING. THEREFORE EXPECT

CLOUDS TO GRADUALLY THIN...AND SOME BREAKS SHOULD FORM.

WILL LEAVE THE FREEZE WARNINGS SINCE TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE MID

30S TO LOWER 40S AND ANY CLEARING WOULD RESULT IN TEMPERATURES

DROPPING INTO THE UPPER 20S. HOWEVER DO NOT EXPECT A WIDESPREAD

HARD FREEZE DUE TO THE CLOUDS.

So says climo.

Yeah but you'd think in a year where we had two cold shots, one in late September and one in early October, we could catch a break for once and get a freeze before cities like Kansas City, Omaha, Cincinnati, etc. I have to move inland, living near Lake Michigan is annoying at times to say the least. Only helps marginally in winter with the rare lake effect snow.

With the way it's looking tomorrow night might be colder! Holding steady at 41° here. Might be clearing out south and west of Madison. Seeing some mid 30s out there.

Brr lots of teens last night back in Iowa.

32 freeze map prob doesn't look much different for us near the lake.. a 28 freeze now would take dam near record cold.. 32 and under last night would have been close and prob close to a lock imo without the clouds. would have been cool to get 32 or under during the first week of oct here.. % to get that is probably around 10% and about our chances of the brewers or cubs winning the WS in our lifetime.

I'm actually glad most of southern wi failed the freeze so hopefully the foliage can hang on a bit longer until we get out there on wed.. just have to endure the brisk torch winds the next few days.
