CT Rain
How did you just hack into my TV? Watching the Giants game and muted it during halftime, then all of a sudden without anyone touching the remote your voice comes booming on my TV. WTF? lol it was a 4 second promo for the news after the game

ChrisM
lol it was a 4 second promo for the news after the game yeah, and the sound was off before it and turned back off after. Literally so bizarre. I probably sat on the remote but it was still funny.
H2Otown_WX
I'm totally expecting a 12/15 meltdown when we've barely had an inch or measurable. Which will happen first, a widespread 6"+ snowfall or Coastal's 50K post?
Sn0waddict
BHE? Best Hail Ever? If you guys have any pics would love to use some on the air! Woops, didn't even think about taking a pic. It was only pea sized, but it was still shocking to see hail, especially considering where I live.

Brian5671
7 inches of rain at BDR in Sept, yet most of the days were dry. Odd month. Bummed I missed the hail-was up in Monroe and I could see the storm cloud off to the south and could hear the thunder.

Mr. Windcredible!
Look at these classic quotes from Kevin before the epic '10-'11 winter. "This is one of those yrs where it just doesn't want to snow. We have yrs where all it wants to do is snow..this is completely opposite. In the end I'll still be here. but i am pretty dejected today" "I'm considering leaving my weather hobby. In all seriousness. life is too short for this BS" My guess this was a couple days before the Boxing Day Blizzard? My memory may be fuzzy...but we hadn't had any appreciable snow prior to that. Models were in great agreement at days 4-6 for a big storm...only to all back off like 3 days before. I remember being pretty bitter and angry at that point to as the storm had pretty much been a lock only for all the models to just drop it. Of course...then then we got our Christmas miracle with the 0z runs on Christmas as the models resurrected the storm. Then we had a historic 6 weeks until the fun stopped in mid-late February. powderfreak
Man we are going to torch for this first week of October... absolutely torch due to overnight mins. With average mins this week in the 38-40F range, the forecast doesn't have a low below 50F until Friday night and that's only 47F. Wednesday night's forecast calls for only 57F for a low... that's a forecast for a +18F on the minimum. To look at it another way, if the forecast was for a -18F that would be a low of 20F, lol. This will actually be interesting to see just how high the departure gets by Saturday... easy +10F average from the normal 63/39 with days like 73/57 forecast. LL should follow the departures up here, BTV is forecasting double digit positives each day.

Mr. Windcredible!
Are you back in Clinton!? Yup...moved back in mid August. Job in Albany didn't work out...and our house here never sold. I predict Albany will have a historic winter this year...while we will be well below average.

I always use my AC well into October. As long as we have nights in the 60s and some humidity, why not? My thermostat will kick the AC on based on the temp or humidity presets anyway. Was in the Hartford area and eastern Conn. this weekend, and there was a lot more color than here, but it definitely seemed muted. Not sure why, but even the color that has started here looks pretty muted. Maybe I'm just being impatient, but it didn't look nearly as good as some of the early season pics people have posted from far interior spots. When our foliage started it was very muted for even up to two weeks... just like a dull color in most of the trees. That's when I thought this foliage season was a bust. Then it went from 75% dull to 75% fireworks in like 5-7 days. I'd give it time... I'm always impatient with foliage, too. But its definitely one of those things that continues to get better with time.

There's some decent reds...everything else is kinda blah. But we've just started down here...hopefully it's a bit premature to call bust on the fall colors.
