Not really to be honest. Nothing a little google can't help.

Yeah I'll take a look around at some point. Just came across it and jotted it down on my list of indices to write down...once I get to it then I'll probably read into it more.

It's either this or the AAO but I think I've read somewhere that there may be some sort of correlation between the fall phase and the winter phase of the AO or something.

Euro pattern in mid winter is coveted...damn maybe we're setting th table for a tasty winter?

I can't put my finger on why, but I've now got a good feeling about this winter for all of New England....even widespread average snowfall should make most of us happy and I think we'll hit that, with SNE seeing slightly above their seasonal norms (especially coastal sections where averages are lower and more prone to positive variability from a couple key storms).

Overall I think it's a fun winter for this sub-forum...the past couple years I've felt we were due for a total clunker and we got it, so now feeling like a good ol' average New England winter in terms of appeal with cold/snow/pack.

I saw something about a Fall -AAO I believe and winter -AO here. I may have the thinking wrong, but there was something thrown about.

Look at these classic quotes from Kevin before the epic '10-'11 winter.

"This is one of those yrs where it just doesn't want to snow. We have yrs where all it wants to do is snow..this is completely opposite.

In the end I'll still be here. but i am pretty dejected today"

"I'm considering leaving my weather hobby. In all seriousness. life is too short for this BS"

That was December 20 2010. This was after he proclaimed the storm looking good for his area the day before. If you recall, the Cape got 10-12".

Funny thing was that we were already talking about the December 26th storm which looked like it would come maybe on the 25th. Models eventually lost it until Chistmas Eve lol.

He is the ultimate weenie come winter time.

He's posting style is second to none. Big dramatic swings of emotion, calling for busts before storms have busted, making clippers into KUs, the whole nine yards.

It will be great to see how the weenies from Wee Willie Winkie right on down to CT Blizz and Ray handle winter 2012-2013 after a virtually snowless 2011-2012.

I expect some beatdowns to be performed on Kevin.
