Allsnow
0% color here. Thought we'd be popping a little by now with all the cool weather, though I guess this isn't cool weather, but normal. Back country probably has a bit of color though, but down here along the shore it's still all green. Where do you live? People to ur south are showing color....do you live in sne? It just seens ur temps and climate are always completely diff

Typhoon Tip
'87-'88 was a decent winter....you are thinking of '88-'89 Oh, hahahahah - right. Yeah, remember that warm up in January ? wtf was that - Yeah, although wasn't 87-88 the year of the Cape Cod blizzards that kept deliberately tormenting the rest of us? I actually remember a 2-4" change to rain forecast go to an emergency winter storm warning, with widespread thundersnow ...I think it was early Feb in either 1987 or 1988. I never can remember which year on these damn things - jesus. Anywho, that was the best positive bust of my life up until Dec 23 '97 - everyone knows where they were and what they were doing when THAT one hit - haha

Anywho, that was the best positive bust of my life up until Dec 23 '97 - everyone knows where they were and what they were doing when THAT one hit - haha '86-'87 had some Cape blizzards...but also some interior hits. BOS actually kind of got the shaft in between. '88-'89 had the one monster Cape blizzard on Feb 24-25, 1989 that was forecast to smoke us with 1-2 feet of snow. The storm got shoved SE at the last second and the Cape got blasted while back here the atmosphere choked out 3-4" of the driest snow ever after about 10 hours of virga. That was the final middle finger exclaimation point of that horrific winter. '87-'88 was just a pretty run of the mill decent winter. Nothing overly notable that year. A couple big storms in January. A cold appeal overall with long snow cover. But no major KU type storms or anything.
Allsnow
Hawaii, apparently - Lol....khpn is pretty elevated and had alot of trees the last time i was there....granted thats not the most educated description, but one would think a tree or two had to start turning
snowman21
Where do you live? People to ur south are showing color....do you live un sne? It just seens ur temps and climate are always completely diff I live on the CT/NY border right on the Sound. About a mile from the 95/287 junction, and about a dozen miles from the NYC line. My temps are generally between LGA and BDR, both of which are running around +1 for the month, recent cool weather be damned. Not sure how that's "always completely diff" as BDL on the opposite end of the state is also above normal for the month.
Ginx snewx
No acorns in Nmass equals south of Pike winter. Surprised no chatter about tomorrow, nice LLJ, winds could gust to 45.

I'm sure there is some color out there as it's generally cooler than here and pretty rural. In marginal snow events, that area can often squeeze out a few sloppy inches while we just get rain. dendrite
Back to that New Hartford ob...there's a meso site in Canton Ctr that got down to 33F this morning and they appears to be in a very favorable rad spot < 400ft and surrounded by 800ft+ ridges. http://www.wundergro...sp?ID=KCTCANTO6 I think the 28F is bogus...I'd assume that Maple Hollow area was 32-35F. Someone should drive through there with a thermo on the next strong rad cooling morning since topographically it does look favorable for ideal rad cooling. Someone should drive through there with a thermo on the next strong rad cooling morning since topographically it does look favorable for ideal rad cooling. If Canton Ctr got down to 33, I can definitely believe that Maple Hollow hit 30F. You probably can tell me if this is right or wrong, but the Canton center area is a lot more broad and the hills are about 300 feet lower than Maple Hollow (by broad I mean it's got two "open" sides, while maple hollow is bowl shaped instead of tubular). Maple Hollow is a much smaller concentrated topographical depression literally surrounded by hills that average 1000' or just under. I used to drive by the canton site all the time for work, and the hills are definitely a lot less channeled toward that site. I'm not sure if the Canton site funnels the cold down/radiates as well as that Maple Hollow site. Again, you can shoot down the points I brought up if the're not meteorologically correct.
