Allsnow
Saw a weenie ob of 28 in New Hartford CT. A local met tweeted it out and attributed it to a coop obs. I think that sounds way too low. Thoughts? Basking ridge in nj got down to 34......lowest i could find
CapturedNature
Got down to 35 at school, wonder if some areas got some frost around here? Got down to 37 at 1k at home. I was 36° at my place but when I came down the hill you could tell it was a few degrees cooler because frost was covering everything. I suspect it was 32° or 33° there. Yeah possible... most of the weenie spots I saw in CT were like mid 30s though. Will be able to tell when the rest of the 12z coop obs come out. I'll take that and radiational cooling any day. It was cooler down the hill from me though...frost down there.

CoastalWx
All ensembles do have troughing coming in after the first week. Nothing terribly strong, but it may be tied to whatever tropical stuff develops in the west Pac?

CoastalWx
Good. Do not want a warm October. Maybe a 2002 redux? My guess is that the month may eek above, but not by much. Just an educated guess that means little at this stage. Some conflicting signals. But, if the overall H5 pattern is not similar to torch patterns we have seen in previous Octobers...than I think it isn't a bad thing. For instance, we could have a pattern that doesn't feature a big AK vortex and perhaps still slightly above normal. So I'd rather see how the H5 pattern evolves during the month. October is a month for change too, so pattern reversals like you mention can happen.
