Did you experience the strongest winds of the day before or during the rain / convection?

Quick poll to see if more people saw stronger winds before or during the rain / squall line.

It was about the same for me.. I was getting gusts to 40 mph right before the convection (measured it via anemometor before the precipitation arrived). The winds picked up slightly, to maybe gusting to 45-50 or so mph, but it really wasn't a significant difference for me.

Before-we likely got the better effects from the LLJ right along the coast, and it pulled away as the storms arrived.

Poll is pretty much as expected and it shows inland locations saw the best winds in the actual rain and convection while coastal areas saw the best winds before as they were in a better environment to mix down the LLJ before the rain as opposed to NJ and other inland locations.

The highest wind gusts came from LGA, during the line. 52mph.

Newark also recorded its highest gust of 46mph during line.

Islip's highest gust of 41mph was also recorded during convective line.
