Chrisrotary12
I can't believe they only got .02 from that thunderstorm yesterday. Cell split just as it was going over station. 59 verifying would be nice, but they are at 54 now.
H2Otown_WX
Up to 58 there..wish I had gone higher. Their 1000-850mb lapse rate is like 10.1C/km lol
Mallow
Went with 71/27/17/0 for tomorrow. 21kts today is going to hurt me, but I nailed the high, and I still think the 06z low is going to be about 36F, which is what I have.
H2Otown_WX
69/27/17/0 myself for Day 3.
Thunder Road
I forgot to forecast and guidanced again. On to Burbank?
wxmeddler
I bought the GFS for the low and I pay dearly.
H2Otown_WX
I bought the GFS for the low and I pay dearly. Yeah don't go against the cold guidance here. AUS has a weird micro-climate of radiating extremely efficiently. Luckily I knew this before-hand because I had no life and practiced forecasting for them a few times before the contest started. Anyway, looks like they need to fix Day 2 even though it's finalized. The low should be 30 I believe.

H2Otown_WX
And the wind should be 21kts, not 0kts. Lol, that too. Nailed the high today, currently sitting at 5th overall 71/35/14/0 for tomorrow.

Chrisrotary12
Went 73,33,16,0 for today. They are at 70 now......can I sneak out a few more degrees?
Metsfan
Took a hit today going with 69/39/13/0. Thought kaus was going to stay warmer in the overnight because of the clouds in the area. I also question the low of 35 because the meteogram has the 12z fri observed temp for kaus as 38.
H2Otown_WX
According to the climate report, the low of 35 was at 7:34 am which would be 13:34z.
H2Otown_WX
Went 73,33,16,0 for today. They are at 70 now......can I sneak out a few more degrees? Indeed you can. 73 on the climo report, nice job. I can't believe they got to 73 with 6C 850s.

tsteel
Final day for Austin: 73/50/17/0 probably could have gone even higher than 50 with these strong Northerly winds all night.
Mallow
Went with 73/46/19/0 myself. Ugh, I mean I knew the winds would pick up, but really, UP to 69 with a strong northerly wind?

Mallow
Well they got down to 45 anyway. Thankfully... I needed that. I have no idea how, though. Their lowest obs so far has been 49F, and their drop has been steady with the winds. This isn't a radiational cooling night. Seems very fishy. But then so do a lot of the obs that come out of Austin, it seems.
Chrisrotary12
Ummmmmm......so how many people screwed up by greater than 20 degrees today in Burbank? lol Looks like an equipment error.
