H2Otown_WX
Ya, the temperature is not increasing very fast at all. Ugh. If we can manage 68°F, it won't hurt me too bad. If we can somehow manage 69°F, even better. But below 68°F will hurt me pretty bad. It's frustrating because they have the core of +5C 700 mb temps. right over them but they're socked in. I guess the 22z USL is just a prophet.
Dsnowx53
Wow, still stuck at 59. We really need a big increase in temps next hour :/
SN_Lover
The system next week will surely cause chaos haha Euro and GFS have come into some agreement that there will be a low pressure system in the Northern Plains, with massive cold air advection sweeping southeast. heavy_wx
I went 72/35/17/0.00. We'll have to see how much the scattered cloud cover and southerly winds prevent the low from dropping. I think good mixing and downsloping from the southwest should get highs into the low 70s. lol...complete disaster
wxjim207
fun day at KBIL
Metsfan
kbil was an absolute disaster for me. Day after day I couldn't nail down the winds or the low temperatures. I was thinking 70 today with good downsloping, but the high clouds really did the damage with that. Thank god this is the last day.
Mallow
It would be nice to see it at least at 65F next hour... but that's probably too much to ask.
wxjim207
I went 68/41/23/0.00 and so far as of 20Z 61/42/19/0.00.............Currently puts me at 112th in the country. ctsnowstorm and myself currently sit ahead the rest of the Cat 3 forecasters at Lyndon.... I am ahead of my professor which is very nice! Hoping to finish in the top 100!
Mallow
It would be nice to see it at least at 65F next hour... but that's probably too much to ask. 64F... Hoping beyond hope they can still manage another 4F, at least.
Dsnowx53
64F... Hoping beyond hope they can still manage another 4F, at least. KBIL increased in temps through 5pm MDT yesterday, so maybe not all hope is lost. Ideally a 4F jump next hour and a 2F jump at 5pm with an extra degree interhourly... Mallow
Climo says 65/42/20 We better get a higher high and higher winds before midnight.
Dsnowx53
We better get a higher high and higher winds before midnight. Well we've finally got "scattered" high clouds instead of "broken" high clouds so maybe we can still salvage a few degrees. But we're running out of time And yeah I really thought the big downsloping flow would help keep things a bit less cloudy and make it windier, as well. But in hindsight, I feel dumb for not predicting the high clouds.
Mallow
We better get a higher high and higher winds before midnight. Based on surrounding stations (from wunderground) which also showed a little dip around 4PM, the temperature should be back up (probably 65F or 66F) by 5PM. EDIT: Still 63F. Grrrr... Looks like I'm dropping to 60th place at Billings.
ctsnowstorm628
Nice job! I'm only 48th to start the day, but could be as high as 29th if my high and wind verify. I'll certainly take a -5.53 city! Thanks! Yeah ended at 18th, not bad but any negative standardized score is good! It's all about the cumulative! Keep it up! Chrisrotary12
I finished at 173 for KBIL. Highs and lows killed me. Ended up in a 5 way tie for most accurate wind forecasts though. Will certainly take that.

Thunder Road
Finished 325th. Meh. The lows killed me many days. Even Friday I went 38, and was 4 off. Hopefully having the (almost) home-field advantage for Louisville will help!

Playing with fire here but there is a distinct nocturnal jet that sets up. When that 1st mixes down, that's where I'm playing.

H2Otown_WX
Looks like those of you that went 16 or so on the wind are in good shape. Plenty of hourly obs. where they have gusted > 20 mph would lend one to believe the climo report would have something like 16 or 17 kts. High nudged to 81 as the clouds stayed just west. I guess they are mostly cloudy now though.
heavy_wx
Zero error points at the moment, although the wind looks to verify several knots higher.
