eekuasepinniW
Nothing I hate more than an NWS warning when the forecast AND statement forecast winds well short of criteria. Why have criteria??? Indeed. Wind Advisory Tonight Showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph...becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
powderfreak
Sustained over 30mph or gusts over 45mph. High wind is sustained over 40mph and gusts over 58mph. WINDS...SOUTH 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 45 AND 55 MPH. Based on that... the HWW is Advisory criteria. Agreed with Ryan... why even have criteria? ORH_wxman
BOS gusting 37 knots this past hour...not bad. MQE put up a 46 knot gust again. BDL had 37 knots too which is impressive for the valley floor.
snowman21
Well that was a non-event. I think the winds were stronger this afternoon. Looks like gusts to 35 or so in that band with about a 15 minute wind blown downpour.
weatherwiz
Any major winds will probably be isolated within that line.
Mr Torchey
Winds starting to crank again, as some showers are developing out ahead of the main line, nice.

Yeah the line is moving orthogonal to the LLJ so mixing down that momentum isn't necessarily an easy thing to do lol.

mattb65
Occasional wind gusts are really howling and shaking the house. I suspect these winds in front of the line will be the main deal here. We'll see, supposedly the LLJ will be cranking up even more for eastern areas from now until when the line hits? TalcottWx
Having b-day cake with our daughter and heard a loud crash on roof..came down on roof and rolled into driveway. Looks like no damage to house from what i can tell How long did it take for you to cut that limb down and move it for your shot?

TalcottWx
Those are notorious for weakening/breaking up as they pull east, especially close to the coast. Not saying it'll happen, but this is a classic "N & W" rainer... winds are impressive, though. Ding ding ding
