HIPPYVALLEY
We'll see. I'm still thinking "meh". But, good winds could still have some damage impacts on older trees. Up to .66" of rain thus far. Over 1.0" here now. As usual wind disappointing in the valley. Maybe gusting to 20mph. Maybe.
HIPPYVALLEY
1380 WMECO customers out, 1000 of them in Otis and Sandisfield. Other than that, meh on the Mass outages. I am enjoying this much more than the Saturday der-meh-cho What's the wind like for you chaps up over 1k?
powderfreak
Higher winds creeping lower and lower. 60kts at 3K', 50kts at 2K', 40kts at 1500'; If we keep trending like this, by this evening there might actually be some synoptic wind damage as you get off the valley floor. 76mph gust now at 3,950ft on Mansfield. Still increasing.

Typhoon Tip
Lot's of excitement out there.... Not much here in Westborough Mass. Just some wavy tree action amid tepid surface breezes. Some light drizzle rain from time to time. Yes, the sky scape features fast moving streets. It will be interesting later tonight as that line of deep convection from western NJ to DC tends to move NE/NNE and pivots up under the strata rains now retreating N. Kind of a quasi-post warm boundary, deepening barotropic air is lifting N and we could see synoptic forcing tap into that and drive that convective wall up into western MA and event central areas and RI later on, one would thing. The local spin up necessity for the watch is warranted in my mind. You only need a small swarm of EF1's to impact and injure, and if there were no notifications at all, the pendulum of questioning authorities would swing the other way with even more magnitude toward culpability. This is easy to see as a consequence should the public be unadvised altogether. By NWS convention they have a good batting average up in the NE this season. They had a rare upper end moderate, low end high risk for severe a month ago that verified well in PA and points SW - oh well, not here. So what? They had a tor watch last week and had low top SCs near NY. These are a hits. I don't think if they issue one now and nothing happened, anyone with fairness would complain. Or should. The day they can boast pin-point precision on when and where a tornado will occur, then we can complain about the spatial layout or usage in general of watches. radiator
I'm in Boston today. Walked past the Hancock tower on Clarendon Street about fifteen minutes ago. It's a windy part of town under the best of circumstances. Today I was in danger of getting blown over, and had to cling to a light pole to avoid that. Walked a couple of blocks toward Back Bay Station and the Mass Pike overpass. Dead calm in spots. Can't wait to mix the wind with torrential rain this evening. moneypitmike
Over 1.0" here now. As usual wind disappointing in the valley. Maybe gusting to 20mph. Maybe. Nice on the rain. .77" here before the break in the action. I ran into Greenfield 45 minutes ago--had a brief torrential downpour and very little wind. Passed a Wiz-special tree (actually a little bit more impressive) that was split on my street. I'll see if I can get a picture of it up. 76mph gust now at 3,950ft on Mansfield. Still increasing. Righteous, Scott! Keep those reports coming.
ORH_wxman
MQE gusting 42 knots now. ORH gusting 35 knots. 38 knots at BDR. We'll have to see if someone can pull off a 50 later on...but it will be a battle between strengthening LLJ and BL stabilizing.

CT Rain
ct coast looks ok I'm getting some solid 40-45 mph gusts here in Hammonasset (Madison). I'm at about the more exposed possible point near a jetty that sticks out into the sound. We're tentatively scheduled to do a live hit with the weather channel around 540.
