RIcoastalWX
Yeah that's why I sort of liked western areas and NYC metro for strongest winds. Mixing should be a bit better by 00z. Winds have yet to materialize here along the RI beaches... I'm about a mile inland and I have yet to 'gust' past the mid 20's. I would call it 'a little breezy'. In fact, there are times when it is fully calm. No changes in the wind velocity since about 10am this morning.
CT Rain
I really like the Delmarva right now with those temps in the low 80s..Anyone else a little surprised the mod risk was not included to the se NJ coast where some of the more notable surface instability resides? I suppose the better forcing and the peak 850 mb jet is forecast just to the west, but the nam has the best 925mb jet winds of 50-60kts peaking over coastal NJ 18z-00z.. over the better instability. Yeah I'm not sure why they brought the mod risk so far north I probably would have kept it south of NYC and to the Jersey Shore.

Brian5671
UI up to 1,883 without power shows you what a joke the work that has been done since the 2 storms...a few 30-35 mph gusts and 2000 people are out...we're no better off than we were before Irene and the Oct blizzard. wxmanmitch
Southeasterly downslope winds beginning to gust to 30-35 MPH around here. Low-level clouds are really ripping from SE to NW indicative of a strong LLJ. We've had over 1" of rain already.
