Nothing I hate more than an NWS warning when the forecast AND statement forecast winds well short of criteria.

Why have criteria???

Indeed.

Wind Advisory

Tonight

Showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph...becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

BOS gusting 37 knots this past hour...not bad. MQE put up a 46 knot gust again.

BDL had 37 knots too which is impressive for the valley floor.

Valley can do OK with southerly wind chanelled up the valley. The lack of complex terrain upstream of BDL also helps.

Well that was a non-event. I think the winds were stronger this afternoon. Looks like gusts to 35 or so in that band with about a 15 minute wind blown downpour.

Yeah the line is moving orthogonal to the LLJ so mixing down that momentum isn't necessarily an easy thing to do lol.

Has it already passed you, looks like the line is slowing considerably? Another 20-30 minutes or so until we get into it here at least
