SRRTA22
I feel as though it's their job to say its a bust ect....IDC what happens IMBY but i love tracking interesting events like this. It's not your ordinary severe wx threat. It kinda feels like pre-tropical storm and it makes me even more anticipated for the winter!
Hailstorm
new brunswick looks to be getting nailed soon with some wicked winds! What are the wind velocities for that area now?

Sundog
Severe Thunderstorm Warning now for NYC. I'm not a fan of severe thunderstorm warnings when the storms are still quite a distance from hitting here. From their current trajectory they are at least 40 minutes away from Manhattan. NJHurricane
windswept rain now in North Brunswick...about to get into the meat of the line per radar

Hailstorm
I think that once this line enters Staten Island, it will exhibit a lot of rotation. Parameters just skyrocket to the east of this line, except for instability.
Stormlover74
Insanely heavy rain right now, but yeah the winds were better 10-20 minutes ago
Weathergun
Strong winds here. 47mph wind gust out of LGA, at this hour.
SBUWX23
With the LLJ now east as noreaster says, JFK and LGA gusting over 45 mph. LGA 47 mph and recently JFK 49.4 mph.
Hailstorm
FWIW, Janice Huff's Futurecast nails NYC and LI with the line.
winterwarlock
meh....thats it? I had a wind gust to 40 mph and some pretty heavy rain for 10 minutes but now its just light to moderate and winds have subsided. No thunder or lightning all the hype for that? I don't get it? wolfsheepsheadbay
meh....thats it? I had a wind gust to 40 mph and some pretty heavy rain for 10 minutes but now its just light to moderate and winds have subsided. No thunder or lightning all the hype for that? I don't get it? This was never going to be a thunder/lightning threat.

SmokeEater
I think that once this line enters Staten Island, it will exhibit a lot of rotation. Parameters just skyrocket to the east of this line, except for instability. Don't be so sure, the line is weakening down here in South Jersey as it comes into the better dynamics. NEG NAO
no thunder or lightning at all here in northern middlesex county nj just wind swept heavy rain
wolfsheepsheadbay
Lots of heavy rain here in Scotch Plains. Less wind then preceding the storm, which was somewhat surprising. Should give the folks east of here an idea of what's coming.
SBUWX23
The TJFK velocities do not agree. 49 was almost an hour ago under the core of the LLJ

FPizz
Windswept rain for 10 minutes. Now just some light to mod rain. Highest gust I would say 35 mph.
NEG NAO
definetly weakened as it entered middlesex county nj - no thunder or lightning winds about as high as they were gusting all day and 10 minutes of heavy rain
Superstorm93
Not really expecting anything too impressive from this area of convection. Should only be marginally more impressive than the 40-45 mph synoptic winds we've been seeing around here.
BxEngine
Why were people expecting a severe storm with thunder and lightning?
Hailstorm
Don't be so sure, the line is weakening down here in South Jersey as it comes into the better dynamics. I am just lost for words as to why most squall lines weaken in these parts despite the better parameters and warm ocean.
NJHurricane
Windswept rain for 10 minutes. Now just some light to mod rain. Highest gust I would say 35 mph. same here in North Brunswick...maybe a gust to 40 though
