Turtle
Hi gang! I searched the forums and didn't find anything listed about this, so here I am. I just found out about this special website developed by the Mid Atlantic River Forecast Center in State College, PA, during this past spring. They did this leading up to the 40th anniversary of Agnes and its massive flooding. As I recall, the flooding went all the way into Toronto. Had a weather friend from there that recalled this vividly. Enjoy! http://www.erh.noaa....lood/agnes.html --Turtle
bluewave
I also recall Agnes quite vividly to this day. Agnes was one of my earliest storm memories as I was only 5 years old. I lived in a basement apartment at the time that was flooded out for over a week and had to replace much of our furnishings and dry the place out. I pretty much got interested in everything weather after that and I got my first NOAA Weather Radio. http://greatlakes.sa.../maps/agnes.gif
Lady Di
I too recall Agnes as being my 1st storm. I was 9. Our home didn't flood but being a split level with no basement the yard was so wet water did seep in under the back door into the laundry room and den. Our backyard was like a lake. Have never seen it like that since.
Rick G
I was 11 when agnus hit .I worked at the evacuation center in Nanticoke PA. Agnus was not my first storm. I remember several others from when I lived down south. Agnus was the worse storm, because of the massive damage I saw first hand. Last year's storm could have been worse, something I thought I would never see.
