Obv its nothing crazy......but how crazy above avg we have been, its a real snap back to normal.....bdr only 1.7 for the month and have not had more then 5 80 degree highs for the month, A few where saying alot more on the way in that area....7 out of the last 10 days have been below avg, the lows have really been helping......your lowest temps was 50 so far this month

Your obsession with Bridgeport Ct is uncanny, I wish I had the same vigor for Edison NJ.........I salute you!

Not that hard to do joe, its two clicks on the noaa local climate page. Enjoy The beautiful fall day.

Perhaps each week we can focus on a new town in New England.........you have been obsessed and concentrating on BDR for months now, lets choose something else? It really does not make sense to compare snowman 21 to BDR since he is over 30 miles away from that reporting station. I think we should focus on Providence............such a strange place, never met anyone that lived there, or was from there, I have never stopped there..............the temps there seem to have a mind of there own, icebox central compared to the rest of new england over the last 18 months.

There's an independent network called The Cougar Network that tracks down cougar sitings in regions where breeding populations are not believed to exist. There's been several confirmations of cougars in New England, but there has never been evidence that New England sustains a breeding population. It is believed that most of the confirmed reports are captive animals that escaped...or were intentionally released by humans. I was always interested in the possibility of cougars in New England, but I agree with other reports (including the independent cougar network) that we do not have a breeding population in New England...but the rare reports are certainly real.

Thanks Will, I'll check out that sight.

Many reports around here the past few years including some from hunters and farmers who are more reliable witnesses. The most intriguing in terms of breeding population are the two reports we've gotten from farmers/residents in the Colrain/Leyden area that reported two animals travelling together, a larger and a somewhat smaller cat. Mother and yearling?

I'm confident I saw a wolf by the Green River two years ago. I got a good long look from a clearing about 60' over the river. It walked out of the brush directly below me, stretched, looked around and then walked away. I've seen many coyotes in my day and this thing was way bigger with thicker hair and a barrel chest. This was after the one was shot up by MPM.

Since we moved to Greenfield I've been lucky enough to see deer, moose, fox, coyote, wolf(?), and bobcats.

Just got back from an excellent walk, inspiring weather and a great chance to collect my thoughts and get a gameplan to attack the day. Amazing how much warmer it was within about a block of the beach, obviously the water is much much much warmer than the air...........September is my favorite month on the sand both here and down south, its awesome. Have a great day everyone!

A co-worker of mine goes up there for fishing and snowmobiling in the winter and says the same thing. Those lakes are frozen through May..lol. I'll have to find the link for the wx station up there.

Edit: found it. http://www.johnsnhweather.com/

I love the detail of that site. Pretty great for post analysis of upslope snow events, when we have very little observational coverage in those areas.
