Brian5671
You have no fresh air coming into the house? I could never live that way, I have 4 south facing windows open for the breeze and the ac on, even in the summer when I am driving I like the windows open with the ac on.......to each there own:) usually have them open when it's nice out-even in mid summer (Can never understand the folks that run the AC from May to Sept nonstop) Windows closed today due to the rain and wind mainly.... - why bother running the AC if you have windows open...doesnt make any sense to me...one or the other...UI's rates aren't exactly cheap.... I average about 15 dollars a month extra in July and August but ac is usually only on in the evening when its humid out, I hate not having fresh air blowing in the house. ORH_wxman
Yeah, the # of moose N of the Pike and West of 495 is sick. I think Will mentioned that ORH county has the largest moose population by county (or maybe it is density?) in New England? I forget. Been over a year since I have seen one, though The moose population of Massachusetts is estimated to be up around 1,000-1,500 now. Its been going up dramatically in recent years. They estimated that the majority of them are located in Northern Worcester county with also significant populations in northern Middlesex county and northwest MA. They are even getting down into CT now.

We have a 3500 SQ house, so to cool it is quite costly, but worth the $$ when needed. When it's not needed I'm happy to turn if off and open the windows wide... Mr Torchey
Just got back from Penfield Reef, the current was awesome as you can see in one of the pics as the waves were crashing from both the east and west, high tide at 124 and the water was already well past that, wont flood like we do on an east wind but the end of Fairfield Beach road will take a major hit on a sw wind. Should be excellent just before sunset cant wait to get back, estimated winds on the beach were sustained 20 gusting to 35-40.

Mr Torchey
76/70 at 9pm, so glad the air conditioning is cranking and I left them in! Without them it would be a horrific nights sleep, absolutely tropical outside, temp is still 3 degrees above the normal high.

Mr Torchey
Goodmorning, and what a day yesterday! Wind wind and more wind, some much needed rain, and of course the 70 degree dew points down here which were luxurious................A solid +8 on the day here at BDR, Looking forward to normal weather over the next two days before its back up and above once again this weekend, nothing crazy at all, just above normal. It is now safe to say, that this month, September 2012, the year of the flame, will go down as the 19th month in a row of ABOVE normal temperatures at Bridgeport, Ct in the United States of America. The previous record was 12 months.

Mr Torchey
Hey Mallow, thanks for updating the scores. I had a spreadsheet for the earlier provisional scores so I changed that to official scores. Bear in mind these are hand entered and I don't know of any name changes during the contest. Apologies to anyone that this might affect, but provisionally, this is the list of current annual scoring TOTALS ... in order ... 01. 1308 ... Litchfieldlibations 02. 1279 ... Midlosnowmaker 03. 1250 ... UncleW 04. 1246 ... DerekZ 05. 1225 ... Lake Effect King 06. 1223 ... Inudaw 07. 1201 ... Hockeyinc 08. 1191 ... Don Sutherland 10. 1168 ... Gooba Gooba 11. 1099 ... Mallow 12. 1089 ... Ellinwood 13. 1070 ... MNTransplant 14. 1019 ... CandymanCSGA 15. 1000 ... Roger Smith 16. 0996 ... RodneyS 17. 0977 ... NZucker 18. 0958 ... DaBeaches 19. 0950 ... Quakertown 20. 0937 ... BKViking 21. 0935 ... Sacrus (only played five Apr-Aug) 22. 0886 ... SD 23. 0875 ... Tom 24. 0863 ... CTBlizz 25. 0789 ... QVectorman 26. 0767 ... Pottercountywx 27. 0735 ... Heatmiser 28. 0642 ... Weathafella (only played three Jan Jul Aug) 29. 0636 ... Blazess556 30. 0623 ... Hudsonvalley ---------------------------------------- Not everyone in this list has played all eight contests, I noted two in particular who have a much better average than their ranking. I guess a more official list will appear sooner or later, but if anyone knows about a name change affecting this table, let me know. Bringing the championship home, where it belongs in Southern New England.
CoastalWx
Are you still leaning towards an above normal October? I still can't gauge it. From what I can see...it may be a little above, but I couldn't say with high confidence. Probably won't know for another week possibly. If the euro MJO weeklies are right...it might not be above.
